Leo reckoned he could feel the shots before they came. Something like the force, but more hone from gut instinct. He did a barrel roll narrowly avoiding a blast. He had taken on 4 enemy ships, true they weren't as well equipped or maneuverable as his X-Wing, but it was really more his skill that destroyed them than anything. Unfortunately he was heavily outnumbered on all sides. There must have been at least 8 more ships, too many to fight off. He had been part of an escort for a transport ship containing passengers too poor to afford anything with hyperspace capabilities. They had been attacked by pirates. He and a buddy volunteered to hold them off while the transport system got away. Unfortunately Leo's friend had just been shot down. Leo wouldn't be able to hold them for much longer. He dodged another blast and fired a few in retaliation, but they were wild shots. He couldn't last much longer.

Shane was calmly flying in his ship, the Cobalt Trace, with 2 soldiers when he felt someone in distress. Right after that feeling, he saw a transport with 4 guard ships speeding off, and wondered what their hurry was since they weren't going lightspeed. The cause was clear soon enough. 2 more guard ships were behind, fighting about 10 pirate ships. Just then, one guard ship exploded from a shot, and the other, looking like it couldn't stand one more shot, was randomly firing at the pirates while trying to escape. Muttering to himself about how he always had to be nice and help people, he turned towards the pirates and shot his ion cannon, immediately destroying one. "What are you doing?" asked one soldier. "Helping someone -yet again," he replied. He then sped up and let loose his laser cannons, making sure to avoid the remaining guard ship. "Need some help?" he asked on his radio.

The X-wing was ill equipped for this sort of situation. With just a slightly more powerful ship Leo could have easily destroyed these measly patched up fighters. Then he realized that the only more powerful ships would have to be at battleship class, and that would make the boast rather empty. He was preparing for a suicide run when a voice cackled over the radio. "Need some help?" One ship was taken out. Excellent. "Only if you're giving it," he replied. He launched the thrusters on full. If there was one more ship he could do something daring. "I need you to cover me."
With that he charged at the enemy ships. Swerving as close to them as possible so his lasers would do maximal damage. Even so it was an incredibly risky move. If the turn wasn't fast enough he'd crash right into an enemy ship. Not only that but if the speed he used to get the ship wasn't fast enough he'd be hit by enemy fire. Leo was skilled and experienced enough to overcome both these obstacles, able to feel the engine and calculate the right speed without the use of a computer. However there was one problem he couldn't get rid of. The second he executed his plan meant that he would be going too fast to accurately asses his rear. The tunnel vision meant that if an enemy ship chose to sneak up behind him it would be over, as checking radar while attempting such a move was suicide. He hoped whoever had come was a good shot because Leo would need it.

Shane watched as the other ship went full speed at the pirates, shooting the whole time, barely turning away in time. He saw a pirate flying up behind the ship and realized the pilot wasn't checking his radar. Shane then flew towards the ship from a 90 degree angle, firing his lasers. One hit the ship's nose, causing it to spin out of control into another pirate preparing to fire at Shane's ally from the back.

"Woot," screamed Leo. "That's what I'm talking about." He finished off the manouver in time to see the remaining two ships flee to hyperdrive. he adjusted his radio frequency to address the pilot who had come to his aid. "Hey," he said. "Thanks man, I owe you one. Where are you headed?"

"Well, I was going to Mandalore, one jump away, when I saw you," Shane said, then added, "And, it's no big deal, saving you. Anyone would have done it."

"But not anyone could have done it," he replied. "Hitting that tail at the speed it was moving was a one in a million shot. "You could be almost as good as me. What's your business on Mandalore if you don't mind me asking?"

"Well, actually, I was dropping off some soldiers, and I was going to try to get some more Mandalorian Iron, and catch up with some old friends. Mandalorian Iron is one of the strongest materials in the galaxy. Also, I haven't seen my childhood friends for a long time."

Suddenly Leo's radar began beeping. Something big was heading their way. He looked out, something of this size should be visible. "Hey Pilot," he called out over his radio. "Are you getting any anomalies on your radar?"

"Umm... no, but there should be something,? Shane said, looking around, at his radar, then around again. "Maybe it's cloaked? Cloaking devices are highly expensive, though."

Leo tapped his radar as if the gentle proddings could comehow fix his high tech machinery. "Then it wouldn't show up on my radar, this thing is in desperate need of an upgrade." He said poking it lightly. "This thing is huge, to cloak it from sight would be enough to fund an Empire. And not to spend money cloaking it from radar is insane." "I'd better check it out." He said flying towards the anomaly.

"Okay, but I'm coming too, just in case," Shane said, being wary of the anomaly. He was alert for any sense of danger, and ready to attack or flee, depending on the amount of danger.
